5th Blogoversary Giveaway!

Hello hello! Welcome to my 5th (FIFTH! What?! When did that happen?) Blogoversary Giveaway!

Now, since this is a momentous occasion, I've decided to have not one but TWO giveaways! Doubling the chances of you getting some really nice goodies. And what are these goodies, I hear you wondering?

Behind door #1...

1. A lovely cross-stitched cushion. This is a freebie from La-D-Da, one of my favorite designers, called "1-2-Buckle My Shoe" (you can find this and other freebies here, if you're interested). Stitched on a piece of mystery fabric using a variegated DMC (#4240), edged with lace, and backed with navy blue fabric.

2. A baggie of antique wooden spools.

3. Some CC and DMC floss.

4. A piece of 32 count Stoney Point linen.

5. A Janlynn small kit called "Balloon Ride Birth Announcement" (I was given so many birth announcement kits when my baby was born, and I only ever used one!)

6. Stitch with Sudberry leaflet #3.

7. A beautiful pink pendant from Yemen. Not sure what the stone is, but I know it's real silver!

And behind door #2...

1. A pretty little punch needle cushion. This is a design by Notforgotten Farm. Punched onto a piece of brown weaver's cloth using DMC colors, edged with twine, and backed with one of my favorite gray fabrics.

2. A baggie of antique wooden spools.

3. Some GAST and DMC floss.

4. A piece of 32 count Twilight Blue linen.

5. A Butternut Road birth sampler (Yep, another one!)

6. Stitch with Sudberry leaflet #62.

7. A lovely yellow pendant from Yemen. Again, not sure what the stone is, but it's real silver.

All right, that's what's up for grabs! If you're interested in winning either package, please leave a comment below. If you'd rather have one or the other, you can specify. I'll leave this open for a month, until the 28th of February, how does that sound? Plenty of time to join in!

Some rules:
1.      Be a follower of this blog,
2.      Have an active blog yourself, and

Good luck!

Back to Blackberry House, and a Small Win

Hey folks! I hope you're all staying nice and warm and cozy. This has been the lamest winter in Dubai history. It hasn't even rained! We did have a small sandstorm yesterday - so much fun. I don't know about you, but I love getting my face blasted with sand when I go outside (not!)

This week I've been working on Plum Street Sampler's Blackberry House, which had been neglected since before we went away for the holiday (for my last progress post, click here). This is where I am now:

I've stitched more of the stems and leaves in the upper left, plus a couple more berries. I've also filled in the dark seeds of some berries on the right side. Here are some close-ups:

I also completely forgot to share this last week, but I won a small giveaway over at Mii Stitch's blog:

Thank you, Ingrid! It's so cute, I can't wait to stitch it. Such a lovely little gift waiting at the post office.

Lots of love,

The January Gifted Gorgeousness SAL

A very belated Happy New Year! I know I disappeared for a month - we were actually in Japan spending the holidays with my parents-in-law. It was so lovely. Just to have some help with the baby, to be able to leave him with his grandparents for an hour or two so I could take a walk or go shopping...priceless!

We got back a week ago. I've been trying to catch up with everything, including reading everyone's blogs, and I'm nearly there. The laundry has been done, the house has been cleaned, the fridge has been restocked. Back to normal!

Speaking of normal routines, it's time for the Gifted Gorgeousness SAL! Jo from Serendipitous Stitching has started it up again for 2017, so make sure you swing by her blog to sign up! We stitch on something that's been gifted to us through exchanges or giveaways, whether a pattern, kit, fabric, floss, whatever, and post on the 15th of the month.

A couple of months ago I started SamSarah's 3D Fresh Apple to add to my fruit bowl. You can see my last progress post here. I'm a little late, but I managed to get some more stitching done this week:

Quite a bit more stitched up. The apple is nearly finished. The problem is, I've run out of the Oatmeal floss, and I'm definitely not paying postage to order one floss, so sadly this project is going to have to wait on the backburner until I have a big enough order to warrant the postage price.

On the bright side, this means I'm going to have a poke around in my stash to see what I can stitch up for next month! I've got quite a few gifted goodies, so it really depends on which ones I can kit up easily...

I'm also going to be announcing my annual giveaway soon, so stay tuned for that!

Happy xxx's,
