Friendship Sheep Update 3, and Some Blackberries

Hello hello! I know it's been a while. It's been difficult to find the time to blog, to be honest. I've been stitching as much as I can, but the whole process of taking pictures and uploading them onto my computer and then sitting down to write this... It's a bit much for me at the moment.

So I've decided to cut myself some slack. I'll post when I can! It might not be as often as I used to, but that's going to have to be okay. I've got to stop being so hard on myself!

All right, now that my little pep talk is over. Let me show you guys what I've been up to. First, I made some progress on Blackberry House by Plum Street Samplers. To see my last progress on this piece, you can go here.

Since my last progress post, I finished stitching the leaf I was in the middle of, plus I added another leaf and two more berries. I'm really happy with how this piece is looking. It's growing so well!

Then I got some work done on my Little Sheep Virtues stitching.

This is Friendship at 400 stitches (can see my last progress here).

And here it is at 500 stitches:

So since my last update I've finished the purple heart, added the math, started the two yellow flowers, and worked on the border some more.

I'm happy with my stitching the last couple of weeks. I'm just sorry that life's got me so busy I can't keep up with everyone and keep you all updated as much as I'd like.

Lots of love,

Friendship Sheep Update 2

Hello hello! How are you lovely people? I actually have a decent bit of stitching to show you. This is the latest Little Sheep Virtue I've been working on, Friendship.

Here's the sheep at 200 stitches.

And here it is at 300 stitches:

Looking pretty good, right?

I managed to finish up the flower pot, the leaves and branches, made a decent start on the border, and a tiny start on the purple heart. Really good progress, I think!

The July Gifted Gorgeousness

Oh my goodness, I'm actually posting on the 15th! What! LOL... It's time for the July Gifted Gorgeousness SAL check-in! This is the brain-child of Jo from Serendipitous Stitching. We stitch on something that's been gifted to us through exchanges or giveaways, whether a pattern, kit, fabric, floss, whatever, and post on the 15th of the month.

Last month I finished off SamSarah's Fresh Apple, so I had to rummage through my stash and pull out another project. Here's my new start:

This was another gift from the awesome Emma of Emma's Bloglet during one of our exchanges. One of my favorite themes: sheep! This is Little House Needleworks' Warm Winter Woolens. I'm stitching this on 32-count Light Mocha Belfast linen with the recommended DMC threads.

Pretty good start, considering...you know...life. This is going to be a fun stitch! I think it's just so cute.

Big hugs,

Friendship Sheep Update 1

Hi everyone! How's it going? So life is still insane. Still trying to keep all those balls in the air. In my designated stitching time for the week, I started the next Little Sheep Virtues! I haven't worked on these cuties since I finished stitching Kindness (which I haven't final-finished yet, because I haven't had the chance to pass by my LNS for backing fabric). So here is my start on Friendship:

This is the first 100 stitches. This is stitched on 28-count Coffee Jobelan with DMC, just like all the previous sheep. It's so nice to be back to stitching these little cuties!

Teeny tiny little post today! I'm going to try to make time to pass by your blogs and see what you're all up to.

Lots of love,

Not a Great Week for Stitching...

This week I picked up Plum Street Sampler's Blackberry House - which, for the record, I LOVE, so that's not the problem - but the stitching I managed to get done is just pathetic. I'm trying to keep up with posting weekly, though, so here goes:

Yep, that's it. You can see my last progress post here from a couple of weeks ago. All I could manage was that little vine on the bottom left with the two berries, and half of a leaf. Urgh! I miss the days when I could just sit down and put in hours of stitching at a time.

Oh well. I'll try to do more the next time I pick this baby back up. In the meantime, I'm probably going to start another sheep next week. I've finished up a couple of major WIPs lately, the quilt top and the 3D apple, so the anxiety-inducing pile has shrunk a little. Might as well add to it, am I right?

The Quilt Top is Finished!

This is going to be a really quick post. I just wanted to do a little happy dance because I finished the Little One's quilt top!

You can see my last update here. I used a charm pack of Come Dive with Me, by Whistler Studios and most of a yard of Cotton Supreme Solids in Optical White. The pattern you can find here, and it's incredibly easy to follow.

That's it! Told you it would be quick. Today was the last day of Ramadan, which means tomorrow is Eid, our holy day to celebrate the end of the month of fasting. Which means I've got a lot to do to get ready!

Big hugs,

The June Gifted Gorgeousness

Somehow, when I wasn't looking, half of the year has flown by and it's mid-June already. Which means it's time for the June Gifted Gorgeousness SAL check-in! This is the brain-child of Jo from Serendipitous Stitching. We stitch on something that's been gifted to us through exchanges or giveaways, whether a pattern, kit, fabric, floss, whatever, and post on the 15th of the month.

I've been working lately on SamSarah's 3D Fresh Apple - you can see my late update post here - and I've finally finished it!

This pattern was a gift from the awesome Emma at Emma's Bloglet during an exchange a couple of years ago. I've been working on this for ages! Seriously, I started it in November, but I ran out of a floss color and had to wait a while before I could order because I definitely wasn't going to pay shipping charges for one floss.

This cutie is stitched on 28 count Christmas Red Jobelan with the recommended GAST and WDW colors. The stem is an inch of Palomino felted wool twisted around and sewn shut. Here it is with my first two SamSarah fruits:

I've finished the berry, the melon, and the apple so far! Pretty good, considering how stressful it is to finish them off. Seriously, seriously stressful. Like hold-your-breath-the-whole-time-and-hope-you-don't-ruin-it stressful. Especially when you start turning it inside out to stuff it and close it up. Oh man. I did that part so, so, so slowly so nothing would rip.

I'm so happy with how it turned out! I can't wait to fill up the bowl with the rest of the fruit. It'll have to wait, though - I've got so much going on right now it's not even funny! I need to catch up on reading everyone's blogs, for sure. Sorry, you guys. I'm trying, I promise!

Lots of love,
